Most people don't know which candle they'll reach for until they've lived with a few. A pillar suits a whole evening on a nightstand. Tea lights suit scattering, along a tub, across a tray. Votives land in between. So this is one of each: twenty candles, enough to work out what fits your rooms without committing to a format first.

Most candles are sold on scent. These aren't. In a bedroom or a bath, fragrance is usually the thing that gets in the way, it competes with your perfume and lingers on the sheets. At twenty candles it matters more, not less. These are poured with no added fragrance. Just beeswax and a cotton wick.

Beeswax burns slower and cooler than paraffin, which is why the 3x5 pillar runs 90 to 120 hours where a paraffin candle the same size gives you about 30. The two pillars carry 144 to 195 hours between them before you've lit a tea light. Clean burn, very little soot when the wicks stay trimmed, lead-free cotton throughout. The honey-gold color is the wax's own, so shades shift slightly between batches and pieces.

To get the full burn, trim the wicks to about ¼ inch before every light. On the pillars, let the first burn run about three hours so the pool reaches the outer edge, beeswax has a memory, and a short first burn sets a channel the candle follows for life.
